YNAB Classic App Reviews

YNAB is a great software solution to easily manage a budget. This app is the (almost) perfect companion to the computer version. Too bad the budget cant be modified through this app though. I only grant it four stars because the app misses an important feature : being able to differentiate the amount of budget/off-budget accounts on the home page. Currently, all the accounts are merged into one total that doesnt mean anything compared to the budget amount. Just adding a third line would solve the problem.

Excellent app to complete the desktop version.

Its the only reason I own an iPad. All companion app should have this flawless quality.

I just started a trial version of this before spending the huge purchase fee. I have the Mac version and also downloaded on my iPad and iPhone for ease of transaction entry at time of a purchase. I am surprised that there is no ability to add either a new category or sub category from the mobile (iPad/iPhone) versions. Is this coming???

I used to have a financial control that worked based on past events and to be honest, doesnt work ok. Now I can see the future, learning from the past and CONTROLLING my money. Now I negotiate among the categories before that money is gone and this is really cool. I recommend this program.

A única coisa que me impede de comprar é que não há como anexar arquivos (imagens, pdfs, etc) em lançamentos. ~ I used it for a while and I saw a huge potential in it. The only thing that keeps me from buying is that theres no way to attach files (images, pdfs, etc) on entries (incomes/expenses/transfers).

Im glad theyre offering extra functionality in the new version, but god, this new version is so ugly. I wish I was just referring to the awful iOS7 aesthetics and pallete, but this update seems really rushed UI-wise. Everything seems crammed and unpolished. What a shame, I wish I could go back :(

It has been 3 years since I have begun to use the YNAB. A necessity I have is to be able to control my finances even when traveling, and so I need to use or the iPad or my smartphone. One thing that would really help me while using the app is to be able to see the balance of a specific account after each transaction. There is such feature in the pc software, but I was not able to find it in the apps! With balance feature, this app would perfect for me!

I really liked it, until now it is the only budget app that Im really using. It is easy and works great

Do you have plans to add touch id and iCloud sync?

We need this. Its crucial information. Add a column or row please! Also, automatic installments splits (you enter total and number of installments and all entries are automatic).

Ive been using YNAB for more than three years now and the app is great - very clean and easy to use. Only thing missing for a 5-star is: - Touch ID compatibility... I hate to type my PIN every time I access it. - Reporting. The app lacks the report view you have on the desktop application. This should be expanded for the mobile app even if its a simpler version.

The iPad version is the perfect companion for the Mac and iPhone apps.

Love the app, but it crashes when I try to add a payee or memo.

I really love the idea behind YNAB. Unfortunately there is still no iPhone 6 plus version of the app available. Also iCloud Drive is not supported und you are forced to use Dropbox. I will give five stars if the YNAB team will change that.

Yes it requires the desktop app, but its a small price to pay for such a fantastic software. I dont usually sing praises for an app easily but this one is exceptional. Ive tried a lot of personal finance apps and nothing even comes close. Been using YNAB for 13 months now and I cannot imagine life without it. Get the iPhone app too. I usually do my budgeting on the laptop version once a month, then enter daily transactions on my phone as they happen. The iPad app does basically everything the desktop version does, so its ideal for re budgeting on the go. Highly recommended combo!

I cannot recommend this app (and its desktop counterpart) highly enough. Using it has allowed me to take control of my finances in a way I never had before. Rather than restricting me, it has in fact given me more freedom to spend my money whilst at the same time building a financial safety net and nest egg. It is by no means hyperbole to say that YNAB has changed by financial life.
