YNAB is a great software solution to easily manage a budget. This app is the (almost) perfect companion to the computer version. Too bad the budget cant be modified through this app though.
I only grant it four stars because the app misses an important feature : being able to differentiate the amount of budget/off-budget accounts on the home page. Currently, all the accounts are merged into one total that doesnt mean anything compared to the budget amount. Just adding a third line would solve the problem.
Its the only reason I own an iPad. All companion app should have this flawless quality.
I used to have a financial control that worked based on past events and to be honest, doesnt work ok. Now I can see the future, learning from the past and CONTROLLING my money. Now I negotiate among the categories before that money is gone and this is really cool. I recommend this program.

It has been 3 years since I have begun to use the YNAB. A necessity I have is to be able to control my finances even when traveling, and so I need to use or the iPad or my smartphone. One thing that would really help me while using the app is to be able to see the balance of a specific account after each transaction. There is such feature in the pc software, but I was not able to find it in the apps!
With balance feature, this app would perfect for me!
I really liked it, until now it is the only budget app that Im really using. It is easy and works great
Some bad moments
Im glad theyre offering extra functionality in the new version, but god, this new version is so ugly.
I wish I was just referring to the awful iOS7 aesthetics and pallete, but this update seems really rushed UI-wise. Everything seems crammed and unpolished.

Love the app, but it crashes when I try to add a payee or memo.
Budgeting is a long term project. Dont start with this app, its support runs out end of 2016. Its replaced with a cloud service that doesnt work with German banks.
Crashes every time. It needs an immediate update to fix the bugs!
For the purchase price, it lacks update. Worried that the software/app will become obsolete and require to migrate all the data to another program in the near future.
Acts just like the description; a companion app. Apart from adding/removing transactions, this app cant do much. If you need a more complete mobile finance app then look elsewhere. That being said if you rely on the desktop counterpart then you dont have much choice. While not being able to modify budget categories or accounts may be because youre supposed to plan everything in advance in the desktop app, this seems like a very shortsighted choice by the designers.
