This is the best budgeting software (for home and business) that Ive ever used. If you are familiar with YNAB, and using it correctly, then you have found a good deal of money using their software. The average, over a couple of polls, was something like $200 average found in the first month and $3000 found over the next 3-4 months. That definitely tracked my experience at the time. I was curious to see the updated logo recently so I went to their web site to check out what was going on. Initially, I was a little non-plussed with the move to a subsciption based model as I have to deal with a lot of that at work and some companies really do try to stick it to you... However, after a moment of reflect I realized that, considering the amount of money YNAB saves me, I would gladly pay the eqivalent of $3.75 a month or $0.86 a week just to have the automatic bank import functionality. In fact, just to have a team as dedicated as this one seems to be to helping people is worth that much to me. If you havent found a lot of money using YNAB in the past then you are doing it wrong. If you are having conniption about the new service model then think about what you are getting for a moment. If it still seems unreasonable then quit using YNAB and start using a spreadsheet or piece of paper to do the same thing. Get it to work as flawlessly as YNAB. Then tally up the amount of time you are spending replicating something that someone else made (that works a heck of a lot better than your version) and see how much you spent on your replacement. (I am able to recreate it but my time spent would eclipse the annual subscription and mine would not be nearly as nice) If you are still freaking out about the subscription model then keep using the old version. Im sure it will work fine for years and years to come. No body is twisting your arm. To those who use try to use the "dont get caught paying for subscription budgeting tool" because it breaks the first law of the bdugeting universe: If you cant manage to pay less than $4 a month for the very thing that is helping you find 50-100 times more than that and changes the very way you manage your money then you have much bigger problems than YNAB can solve.
